Horror★★★★☆
Clayface
DC Studios' first proper foray into horror is a surprise. Clayface is less a superhero film than a body-horror tragedy, and it's all the better for it.
Tom Rhys Harries grounds the shapeshifting with real pathos, and the practical-effects team clearly had a field day. The third act leans a little too hard on CGI, but the first hour is some of the most confident genre filmmaking of the year.
See it on the biggest screen you can find — the sound design alone is worth the trip.
